What year is it?
This morning while having my first cup of coffee and choking back tears as I perused the newspaper I stumbled upon this ad that drew me out of my sadness and into anger all before 8am. It's that one...down on the left...that reads "BROWNING SHOTGUN" in big bold letters. Go ahead have a closer look.
Have a seat, you're not going to believe this...
In case you can't see it the ad (for a local jewlery store) reads, " You didn't protest when he got his new Browning Shotgun... (terrible picture of diamond stud earrings which are in my opinion insulting in their design) Way to be thinking ahead, girl!" Now at this point I had to rub my eyes, shake my head, and check the date in the upper left corner of the paper to be sure the year was 2005 and not 1950. WTF! Anyone else out there insulted by this ridiculous ad?
So I decided enough is enough! Inspired by a fellow knit blogger over at Pocket Farm and the recent events over the past... well... 5 years...I am going to maintain yet another blog but this one will be dedicated to citing instances of what I call "Social Sobotage" in the media or elsewhere as well as ranting and ravings as I come across things (like every second) that I find troubling about the course of our society of man.
I encourage feedback and input. If you see something that gets your blood boiling let's keep eachother aware. That is the beauty of the blogging community...ideas travel fast.
